Who Are We

Who We Are

Space To Be Occupational Therapy is here to support you and your family to build a stronger connection to self, others, and the natural environment.

Space To Be is nature-based, meaning we primarily work in outdoor spaces. A growing body of evidence suggests that we learn and develop more effectively when in connection with nature. Benefits also include significantly more positive, lifelong health and wellbeing outcomes.

We are taking occupational therapy back to the roots of the profession, where we uphold the values of equality, person-centred service, respect, autonomy, sustainability, and meaningful participation.

Occupational therapy helps people of all ages and abilities to find meaning in their life.

We are a service for people aged 3-25 and their families, located in Canberra and surrounds. We will be able to work with private, Medicare and self-managed NDIS funded clients.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant"
Robert Louis Stevenson

What We Do

Connecting people to Self, Others and Nature. Space To Be is a safe space supporting everyone to:

Flow

Find your state of flow, a mental state where you are emersed in the here and now. Find your focus energy and let go of judgments. Using the Kawa River Model we will explore your contexts, attributes,  barriers and how they impact your life flow.

Grow

Whether you are growing and
strengthening your roots and identity or reaching towards your hopes, goals and dreams, Space To Be will work with you to identify what is meaningful for you.

Flourish

You decide what flourishing is to you and your family. The Space To Be community will celebrate with you no matter how big your achievement is.

We pay our respects to the Elders of the Ngunnawal Nation, both past and present. We acknowledge and respect their continuing connections to land, water and community. Always was always will be.
